Camping is probably my favorite hobby. I try to go whenever I get a chance, of course mainly during the summer months. I have gone all over out West. And I've done a lot of camping around Wisconsin. This page has some of my camping memories - pictures and stories - from some of my favorite camping trips [or that I happened to bring a camera along].

I usually go 'car-camping' where we pull out the tents but use the car to store most everything.  I also really like backpacking, but don't have the equipment to do it now.

The first day was quite an adventure, not that the rest wasn't...

Devil's Lake, June 1997

Humid, wet, sticky, hot, but still peaceful and relaxing, of course.

Devil's Lake, May 1996

Another Devil's Lake campout.  A pretty wet weekend, but we did hike the cliffs of course.

Spring Break 1996

Rather then going to Florida, California, or something, I spent my first college spring break camping in southern Missouri.  Five of us decided to take our own trip.  It was really cold the first day, but from then on it was pretty nice weather.  And who can object to a week-long spring break that cost each of us only $50?

Devil's Lake, August 1995

This picture is of Parfley's Glen - which is about a 10 minute drive from Devil's Lake.  It almost seems out of place in Wisconsin.

Trip #23, Summer 1994

Our unit got along better then any other unit on the two trips I went on. (This is of course my opinion and is subject to debate. However, I think at least everyone in Purple Unit would agree). We actually cooked all our meals, washed our dishes, camped together, ate together... we just got along great.

Trip #24, Summer 1995

This was my last chance to go on the trip, and I took the chance. It was the summer after my senior year in high school. I had another great time. I can't really compare the two trips - totally different people and a route that was changed quite a bit. They were both great trips, though. I got to even see Canada on this trip.
